We stayed 4 nights with a 22' trailer. We needed only 30amp connection. They have a small number of asphalt, 30amp connections for a good rate of $17. These 30amp sites. with full hook-ups, are the furtherest from the shower house and washeteria. The 50amp sites with larger concrete parking spots are $20. Check-in staff at the marina were very nice and professional. Shower House/Washeteria was always clean -- good daily maintenance. It was very windy every day we were here -- about 15 - 20 mph, plus gusts. No one could put their awnings out, and I didn't see anyone cooking outdoors or lounging outside their RV. There are no trees to shelter you from sun or wind. Temp was okay, mid to upper 70's but still no comfortable outdoor activity. There was still visible damage around from Hurricane Harvey. There used to be a nice fishing pier by the campground that was damaged and now not useable. Various buildings on base had roof damage and some activities have moved or are being repaired. Both the Commissary and NEX are small but adequate. We bought a few items at the Commissary, but the nearby off base HEB, Walmart, etc. are better stocked and and in many cases cheaper by a few cents. More and more it seems like the on base facilities aren't really doing a service to our troops anymore when compared to off-base providers. Campground has a modest recreation room with kitchen, tv, and tables to play games. Couches for TV viewing weren't too comfortable. It did not seem to be used very much. Several residents may be permanent party, homesteaders, etc. Some RVs were parked on sites and never seemed to have any occupants -- like they are stored there.
