Review Detail

We stayed here for two weeks in December and really enjoyed our stay (with the exception of one tiny mice finding its way into the motorhome ). We paid the few extra dollars for a waterfront site ... were told which sites were available when we arrived and selected one of them. We liked having a front row seat for watching the ships going in and out of the boat basin ... were really delighted to welcome home Hue City returning from its deployment. Friendly staff always had a smile. Triked all over the base on weekends when the traffic was light, saw plenty of birds (egrets, wood storks, ospreys, and hawks), including a quick glimpse of a bobcat in the area around the golf course. Loved the beach even though it was too cold to swim. Walked it almost daily, and enjoyed all the pelicans, gulls, terns, and skimmers, all of which seemed to have little fear of us and we could sit and watch them for hours on end. Rated the amenities/facilities a three only because we did not use them. Appreciated being able to wash the rig while we were there. We've already made reservations to return later in the year.
