The park is very well kept with nothing out of place or extraneous stuff sitting around. All the sites are concrete pads with a grassy area and a very nice metal picnic table. No sign of long-term residents. The staff is very friendly and helpful and provided us with a folder full of information about the base and surrounding area. A great place to walk a pet. If your site is the end away from the lake, there is an entry through the trees to a lovely green walkway/road for you and your pet, and my dog and I saw a deer watching us as we walked. The one area for improvement would be the roads which are rocky gravel and makes for difficult walking, and the potholes makes it very difficult for entry and exit with a motor home. Fix the roads and you should beat out Davis-Monthan for #1 Famcamp. Although we didn't use any of the facilities, there was an inviting screened area with tables and chairs for eating inside and a big gas grill parked right outside. Also peeked into the gathering room with tables and chairs, sofas, and television. I loved the new big front-loading washers and dryers. And they were free!!! Outside in the breezeway and inside the eating area are big inviting wooden rockers!!
