Wow this is a nice military campground. Based my ratings on other military campgrounds I've stayed in this place is spotless, well-kept, and the staff escorted me to the site. Only stayed a couple of days while traveling to Wyoming but overall it was a good stay. Laundry was 75¢ per machine. There were poop bag dispensers every 100' around the park. $22 for full hookups & pull through a great value.

Great view, comfortable weather, dry camping, no dump station. Loved watching the sail boats in & out of the bay. The sea gulls were very noisy. Be sure to visit the Cabrillo National Monument & Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. The base has a small shoppette and there is a large shoppette & gas station just up the road on Nimitz Blvd.

Ok place to stay the weather is comfortable. The site we stayed in was just part of a parking lot with full hookups. A mobile veterinarian happened to be on site and was able to get the dogs shots updated. BTW they wanted to see the dog's shot records. There were coyotes running around in the overflow sites. The base is a sleepy place without much activity. There is beach access from the base.

Stayed for a week. The park was clean and up-to-date everything worked and the location was an easy bike ride to the commissary & BX. The laundry was FREE! The base itself is in the middle of NOWHERE and it was HOT! Compared to other bases it was a little high but it has been recently renovated.
