This place is a dump. In the RV section the homesteaders have it looking like the "hood." There is no host because no one will work for a 1099 and no pay. The lady in the store told us the host left because they were charging the host for living on-site. The place has no help and does not plan on getting help. This place would be a great location if someone would take charge and clean it up. Don't...
Not what we thought. The Fletcher's Fork while designated for big rigs but very small with no parking spaces for the toad. Cannot find the laundry. The firing from the range, located adjacent to the park, is not a good place for sensitive dogs. The single lane bridge sign says for vehicles not over 9 tons, most large rigs are well over that. Verizon phone gets one bar and web stick does not get a signal. Overall OK but would...
We went over early to check out the new section and WOW, this is what a FAMCAMP should look like. Forget the comments about the WiFi and just kick back and enjoy. Place is just great. We will be in there Labor Day weekend and look forward to the stay.
Stayed in the new section again and really enjoyed the new layers of gravel the staff has installed. The overall rating would have been higher except for the laundry facility and the office staff. When I stayed there last spring the same washers/dryers were broken and according to some of the active duty staying there there has been no attempt to have them fixed. The lady operating the office needs to start keeping records in the computer system so there...
First stop here in five years and we are impressed with the new (to us) sites that are adjacent to the overflow area. The staff is great with a big hello when arriving. The directions getting here are clear with no problems. The only thing wrong with the facility is the laundry. It is too small to accommodate the number of old sites not counting the new sites. A larger laundry is required. I could not find a day or...
We are currently here at one of the best FAMCamps we have run into. The facilities are new or near new and the people that run the facility could not be nicer. The commissary has some of the best deals going, we bought steaks for $1.45 a pound, fresh fruit, and nice veggies. Of the sites available, only one is unoccupied. Regular price is $12.00 a night and with a Golden Age pass it's $6.00. Cannot beat the deal. The...
I have to agree with other postings. The utilities are misplaced and not effectively utilized. I wanted to go into a site but there was no electricity. The unit in back used my while the ones on each site were using electric from adjacent sites. Black lines were criss-crossing all over. Checked with the host, Chuck, he didn’t want bothered and told me to find another site. The check in people are very nice and very helpful but they gave...
Road needs to be repaired and host phone number should be recorded when office is closed. Other wise, a great place and great location for visiting Savannah.
Water pressure is so low due to water restriction valves that RV pump must be used for adequate water pressure. Water was extended to mid October, weather pending. Sites are gravel and very level. Easy entry from and to I-25. Site cost has been extended to $20 while water is on. Price is to high for what is available and should be lower during off season, after Labor Day. No one answers phone calls or returns phone calls.
There was no host since we were into the winter season. The check-in kiosk did not have any forms so I had to call the next day to get forms. The cost was great! It was $12 a day and if you signed for 6 days the 7th was free. The only problem we had was entering the main gate. The rent-a-cop stood at the entry station and laughed at us trying to get our 40' through the barriers....
New directions when entering the base and getting to the campground: Take Washington Street exit off US 101, proceed west through the City of Petaluma. After passing the Chamber of Commerce building on the right, continue 8 miles (Washington Street will become Bodega Avenue). Follow the Coast Guard signs and turn left onto Tomales Road. A flashing amber light marks the main gate. Turn left through the main gate and immediately turn right and go around the...
We made a reservation but had to move off for the weekend to a tent site then onto another site for the next week. The majority of the sites do not have full hookup and what hookups that are available are not located on the correct side of the site. The water, electric and sewer may be some distance away and require additional water hoses, electric extensions or movement of the motor home to get the sewer connected....
We enjoyed the park for an overnight stay. We did not use any of the facilities and therefore could not rate them. The hostess, Wanda, is great. We did not see Bob. Construction and detours were gone. The security personnel were very nice and helpful. We will stop on our way back south.
As a fisherman it was great but that was taken away by the overall filth and lack of attitude by the workers at the USAF side. The manager is often not there, he is out fishing or taking time off. Many of the camp sites are used by the locals and are full of junk boats and trash trailers. This is with the approval of the manager. There is no water or sewage at the sites...
There was a slight problem with gate enterance but we had checked it out the day before we tried to get the MH in the gate. We consider this to be one of the best famcamps we have been in and offer congrats to the maintenance personnel. The only thing that was not good was the camp host. When he decided to work he was not very plesent. The women that filled in for him was terrific....
Due to the poor reservation system and the fact that some people had been living there for years (forget the 30-day limit) we found it very difficult to get a reservation and full site. We spent most of our time in the overflow site. The overflow was the playground then was moved to the front entrance. The sites were not well done for a 40-foot MH when we finally did get one. The laundry was...
