We enjoyed our two weeks here. Some train noise, but mostly quiet. Lots of wildlife. Good place to walk the dogs and a good base vet. No park host that we saw. If after hours, you still need to go to MWR for key since power and water are lock. On the porch of MWR there is a metal box marked "Hunting Permits". Key and registration info in box. Weekly and monthly discounts....
Only one big complaint regarding our stay. The baths/laundry room are being rebuilt. We don't use them anyway. However, when the site next to ours was vacated, campers (6 so far) started using it as the dump station which has no problems according to the camp host. The dump station is on a curve and the camp host thought that it may be dangerous, but the speed limit is 10 mph and if a dumping rig...
We checked out the CG to see if we could stay for a while starting 11/14. While the current CG was full, they are building a new addition! Called them and was told that they expect to open the new section which is west of the old one about mid-December. It is a real RV park with a restroom building. There will be at least 30 new spaces. Luckily this time we needed to go to the PO first. When I tried to dial in Camp Grayling in the Garmin, it couldn't find it. Asked some locals and they gave us good directions from where we...
Excellent CG. Great layout. Nice location and not much air traffic, so is quiet except for morning traffic going to work. Everyone is friendly. Best if you are self contained. Go to Hanger 7 for fast food at a good price or a drink or two in the evening. Our dogs don't like the stickers in the grass, but there is plenty of space for walks on roadways.
Don't know how anyone could have problems size-wise. We have a 39' 5W and there are no restrictions driving or parking. Got here mid-nor'easter, so it was very wet and windy. Biggest problem was with reservations--we did get the last space over the weekend. Had a fill-in office guy and he took 45 min to do our reservation. Think he put me on hold whenever someone walked into the office. Biggest heartburn was they wouldn't...
