Top of the world for our drive to Alaska. Place is not bad as the older reviews may suggest. Staff was nice, check in nice, grounds have been redone with electric and water at all sites, sites level with plenty of room. A bit hard to get to as the main gate is closed until Oct 2026, so if you don’t know your way around, it can be an adventure. Driving in base housing with a 40’ motorhome times two,...
Always a nice place to stay on the way home. One thing that bugs me and it will probably never happen; the place needs a good trimming. The overgrowth is getting worse since we first stayed there in 2016. It will take a pro! Overhanging trees, bushes, underbrush all needs some professional service. Don’t expect staff or host to do it. Park is quiet except when the commuter train comes through. Host was attentive to us with our late check...
Ok, gave this place a try for the winter. Stickers! What a ruined down campground, I'd be embarrassed to bring someone here. The salt air takes its toll on all metal, and the rain takes toll on the stationary structures. Over grown, unkept greenery shows a lot of neglect. Stickers! Rodents have torn up the grounds. Storm drains don't flow so standing water for the mosquitoes. Stickers! Now the good. Nice level spots with easy parking and the price...
Really a nice park. Free laundry, clean. Well kept grounds. A few long term folks here but they were usually off to work before 7. Seven o’clock is a site to heard. No reveille but a lot of jets on the taxiways, brakes on and full throttle for five minutes. The ground shakes and a few car alarms sound. This is Air Force reveille! In the evening, retreat is “right out your door”, big loud speakers mounted right next...
Arrived late. Dark and rainy. Our second time here. We were the only RVers there. The fitness center and RV park are being upgraded. The water was shut off so we did not leave a donation in the box. Not much going on base at night. RV lot is near security offices so they are coming and going all night.
Another phone number that you might try, 253.967.3377. I got a gentleman to answer this line, who passed on my information to the...967-7744 personnel, who in turn called me back.
Just a overnighter for us. Great views. Very convenient near I-90, but you don’t hear it at all. Grounds appear to be overused, lots of dirt in the rv area. Parking is on an asphalt pad. Could use gravel or paving. Posted 5 MPH which most observe but dusty! Goose poop everywhere makes the grassy area tricky. But it’s beautiful area for picnics. Lots to do here if you’re into watersports. Only 30 Amp. RV spaces are tight but...
Really enjoyed Sam Houston RV Park. The person’s review before me should not deter you for staying at this park. Granted it isn’t the Hilton with soundproof windows, but noise is a fact when you’re 7 miles from downtown. Trains, construction and troops training, all part of the experience. Beautiful base, very active. Use the advice of the staff, do not use your GPS to get here. Coming in the back was fairl easy, but the road is in...
Can'r give an honest review as like so many, unable to get thru on the reservation line. Called two weeks out for a Aug 8th campsite. No luck so we stayed at Ft Stevens Campground. Very nice but lots of people. Not noisy. I did get a call back after I left two messages, but by then, I had already got into Ft Stevens. On the return call from the Camp, a unfamiliar number popped up on the iPhone,...
First off we had the dreaded space #207. Really not bad at all except no sewer hookup, 30 Amp. Great location. Nice company. I tried for weeks to update but like other RVers and I agree, there paper reservation system has got to go. Ha written in a large format notebook, geez. We did not get upgraded but those that did, had days split between a couple of sites. The grounds need a good trash cleanup. Lots of small...
The picture says it all. A very nice parking lot with five 30-amp hook ups. Check in at the gate easy. They will give you a key that goes to nothing. You park your rig and take your key back to the SP on the gate. They will give you an envelope for your fees. Drop off fee whenever you'd like at the gate, no urgency. Jets take off at 0915 every morning. You'll hear a few trains go...
We just returned from two nights at Petaluma Coast Guard Station. Once on the base, this website here provided some vague direction that I would like to see clarified a bit. "Proceed down the hill on Colorado Avenue until you get to Missouri Ave where the large propane tank is, on the right where the sign says Lake Recreation Area. Turn right on Missouri Ave." Was fun. Very quiet. Only six spaces and five were occupied. Rarely saw anyone...
