We'll be leaving in a few days after one month here. Utilities were reliable although I'm not a big fan of water spigots inside a ground level water box. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers in the laundry room. Some of the information posted is no longer accurate. There is no cable TV. You can check in with camp host but if you're paying by credit card you'll need to go to the outdoor rec office. Last but certainly...
We just arrived 2 days ago. The far right lane at the main gate was closed due to a sinkhole. They directed us to the commercial gate and sent a patrol to open that for us. The SP only opened the car lane for us instead of the truck lane. The curve was manageable in a 40 foot 5th wheel but getting through the checkpoint was a tight squeeze. I had just a few inches to spare on either side....
I was disappointed that office staff did not answer the phone or return calls on the weekend. Other than that, it's a great campground. For those who recycle, JBSA doesn't really make it easy. After 10 days here, I finally broke the code. They have very limited staffing so they rotate among the bases/posts in the local area. Signage on Ft. Sam does NOT reflect this.

Bring duct tape. The outgoing announcement during non-duty hours just says that they're full most of the time. On the day I showed up without a reservation there were about a dozen available spots. Would it be that difficult to update the announcement...
I checked in on 2 July and was notified of an upcoming rate increase to pay for the expansion. Effective 1 Aug 16,summer rates are 22/day and 595/mth for standard sites, 30/day and 810/mth for waterfront. Winter rates are 24/day and 650/mth for standard, 30/day and 810/mth for waterfront.
Rates have increased effective Jan 2013, check the gopatrickfl website for current rates. This is my 3rd stay at Patrick. It's nice that they added power to the overflow sites but the layout is backwards. You're always backing in from your blind side. On one side the power pedestals are very far forward. One was hit by an RV pulling out of the spot. That pedestal has been tilted 45 degrees for the last 2 months. The camp hosts...
