We stayed at the Blue Angel campground for 5 nights as we prepped our motorhome to store it on Pensacola NAS until we are to retrieve it after Christmas to then drive it down to South Texas for our stay over the Winter. It's a very nice campground in a great location! The camp host was terrific: friendly, helpful & efficient!
Stayed a week in our 36' motorhome. Sites are very level, plenty long & wide. W/E/S all worked fine. Camp host can be a little "gruff" at first, but he warmed up quickly. We spent the week getting our new rig winterized & ready for storage, but did do a bit of touring around Memphis (Gibson Guitar factory, Civil Rights Museum, Bass Pro shop store.) All in all, a pleasant visit!
Just thought I'd advise all that, due to damage by hurricane Florence the Onslow Beach is CLOSED until further notice: months back we had reserved for the end of Sept, but got a call earlier this week that the campground has been closed & will remain so until further notice. :-(
This is a very nice campground, located just a few blocks from Bethany Beach and just a short drive North to Rehoboth Beach, DE & a just 10 miles South to Ocean City, MD beaches. As said earlier, there really aren't ANY "amenities", just a very nice FREE laundry. The biggest disappointment we found is that there really ISN'T CABLE TV SERVICE available: the woman in the Billeting office explained that they'd changed their cable provider to one that...
We initially had difficulty making a reservation at this campground, having been told 60 days prior that "everything is booked solid until mid-September, but when I called in late June I was told there WAS a spot open for 7-11 July as they had just that morning had a cancellation. This is understandable, but what IS a bit confusing is the fact that during our stay I noticed an average of 5-6 empty spots each evening! Also, when we...
We had a very nice stay at the Tinker FAMCAMP: the host, Linda, was very helpful and welcoming. We did experience a "weather scare" with a tornado watch/golf ball sized hail alarm one evening: it was very comforting to know that there was a solid "tornado resistant" structure in case we needed it!
Stayed 8 nights in a 35' motorhome & had a very nice experience! We had much difficulty upon arrival (as others have already stated, DON'T USE THE "STANLEY ROAD" ADDRESS ABOVE IN YOUR GPS: it's not anywhere near the campground!! We ended up using the intersection of "Williams" & "Nursery Rd" & that'll get you close enough. The only suggestion I'd offer would be to add a few direction signs to the campground: The only signage I ever saw...
We had a nice 3-day stay at this park: it rained quite a bit just before our arrival & the first 2 days of our stay, so the campground was very muddy. Most sites have concrete slabs & the roadways were graveled. The staff - especially the Camp Host, Teresa, were VERY hospitable & helpful. The base itself is laid out in a very confusing manner with many one-way roads, so it can be a bit confusing to drive...
We didn't find the campground especially difficult to find or to get to in our 35' motorhome (just enter "200 Annex Rd Biloxi" into your GPS, then follow the "Keesler AFB FAMCAMP" signs to the campground entrance.) The campground itself is outside the base - just next to leased family housing - and is a bit of a letdown. It appears to have been neglected & in dire need of some "TLC": 3 of the 5 washers in the...
We had a very nice stay at this campground in our 35' motorhome. PROS: VERY large sites (many pull-thrus), beautiful lakeside property, clean showers & restroom. CONS: Noisy helicopters overhead until late in the evening (bring along earplugs & deal with it), no sewer connections - need to use dump station on the way out. One suggestion: provide signs directing campers to register at Outdoor Rec office on the way to the campground (we almost drove on by until...
Just a brief stay this time (our 5th in the past 3 years) & another FANTASTIC experience! The staff & camp hosts are TERRIFIC: professional, friendly and helpful. The campground is beautiful & well maintained. We stayed in a 35' motorhome.
Another GREAT stay at Onslow campground! We hadn't stayed here since last October & noticed they've had some staff turnover in the office: the folks we dealt with were friendly & helpful. You REALLY need to be into "beach activities" in order to have a good time at the campground, since there really isn't a whole lot else to do there. The last evening of our stay the "OSPREYS" were flying low over the campground, so that was enjoyable....
Stayed in a 35' motor home. Had a GREAT time on the beach - even though the weather wasn't the best (rain). The cost is a bit high, but well worth it! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Stayed just one nights in site #5 in a 35' motor home: sites are "super wide" so no problems getting in & getting level. No problem making left from Stringham onto Burma (AKA "Defense Highway"), even with toad. Overall a good experience - special KUDOS to Ann who was very positive & helpful! RV sites are just 1/2 from downtown Newport.
We stayed in a 35' coach for two weeks and had a very good time! The RV park is small and kind of out of the way, but it appears to be well-maintained, clean, grounds are maintained and Wi-Fi is accessible. We really enjoyed the area (highly recommend the beach at Hunting Island State Park: nice beach, not ever crowded, just $5 PP admission. We visited this beach 5 days out of the 13 we were here!) Parris Island is...
We stayed at SEA MIST 2-9 August 14 & had a GREAT time! The Staff was GREAT, check-in was a breeze, site was level with all services working fine! Just a short drive to VA BEACH & NORFOLK - just 10 minute drive over to Oceana with it's huge NEX & commissary. The beach is just a 5 minute walk from the RV sites.
