Great place, if your headed to Seward stay here. We didn't stay at the Air Force campground and glad we didn't. There is no choice between the two. You can walk to the docks, downtown, and the local Safeway from here. They have free wifi, bar and grill, and a staff that goes out of their way to help you. This is a campground, that in some places looks like a trailer park. There are some full timers here. It shows trust me. Yes they have free laundry, which seems to make people happy. This is our second time staying at Base Lake Campground. They have made some improvements and more are scheduled. They are replacing the 30 amp site that have gravel, and pouring cement. Before next year the gravel pull throughs and back-ins are to be upgraded with pavement. They painted the bathrooms, installed new doors, and replace all the smaller trash cans in the RV park. This is our second visit to this campground. Everything is up and running, and it is a nice place to stay for a week or two. Bath house is clean, but I think it is a little pricey on the washers/dryers. The also have increased the daily/Monthly rate as of 1 Apr. This is still a good campground, and the best place to cross over the Mississippi River.

They just opened the rest of the new campground as we where leaving. It is okay, they could have done a better job. Great little campground, we were very happy with the sites. It is $15.00 a night, but worth the money. There is no wifi or commissary on station. Very small installation, but nice gym, chapel, and class six. There is a Food Lion 2 miles out the front gate. Just a great view from your campsite.
