Loved the view from the campsite. We stayed at one of the new campsites on the top of the hill in our motorhome and had a spectacular view. The campground has changed since we tent camped there in 1998. Sadly the campground has some huge maintenance issues. The office is a prime example. The WW II building that houses the office, rec center, gift shop and grocery is worn out. Our major concern however was the un-level campsite. A...
This place is adequate. The drive to the office from the main road is a bit scary and they need to trim trees so rigs our size don't scrape. The ladies at the front desk in the Office were exceptional. Very helpful with information and friendly. We camped in the same area we did last time near the laundry and shower. We were able to get satellite TV access for which we were thankful. The site was underwater and...
We love the convenience of this campground. It is not far from family and the access with the sliding gate is less hassle than having a sentry like most base campgrounds. The grounds are well maintained and mostly level campsites. It is well worth the price and a place we like to return to. We camped in a motorhome.
Great location near Williamsburg! Concrete sites, plenty of room between neighbor. Fire ring. Picnic table unusable because of wharped boards. Laundry very nice, but we were there 16 days and the broken washer was not fixed. Same with the shower. Who is managing the place? We called 3 times to pay for our campsite for the last half and no one would answer the phone. We left messages, no one returned them. Had to drive a couple of miles...
We love this campground and have stayed here many times. Having said that there are a couple of things they should address. The secret is out. It is a popular location and it is getting harder to book a reservation. One thing they could do is reduce the number of homesteaders. Over 50% of the campers here are long term. Some have been here for years. Yes --years! Another thing is that maintenance seems to have tapered off a...
We love Sea Mist RV Campground. The staff changes but the great location stays the same. The building and woodwork are beginning to show their age and need a fresh coat of paint. There continue to be a special few who have beat the system and live here for long periods of time, homesteading. Sad, but some people have been here for years. I wish I was kidding. But it you can snag a site, you'll see why we...
OK campground way out of the way and with limited facilities. Some sites muddy but all seem to be flat. No water is a problem since the water facet at the dumpstation was broken. A couple of folks ran 100 foot hoses from the shower / restroom to the facets on each side of the building. Looks like 1/2 the folks might get satellite access. No internet. Stopped by the MWR office on the weekend the guy there said...
We liked this campground because of its location. The Atlantic Coastal waterway and drawbridge is 100 yards in one direction and the Onslow Beach is the same distance in the other. Great location! The registration office staff are friendly and helpful and we had the pick of 1/2 dozen sites. They could be a little longer, but it was no real issue in our 40' motorhome. Another real plus is the NEX mini mart that is next door to...
This is one of our favorites. The facility is great and very well run. We camped in the new section this time and liked it. We will be back. The walk along the beach and the sound of the waves each day is worth it all. But the people in the office make our stay great from the start. Especially Angelia. She is very conscientious and friendly and a real professional. She should be commended and she is an...
One of the very best in the military! Office staff (specifically Angela) and grounds / maintenance personnel first rate! Campground in excellent shape, grounds well taken care of and lawns mowed. Concrete pads very nice and laundry, rest rooms fine. Short distance to the beach. One of our favorite places to stay. We will be back. We camped in a motor home.
Another great stay. We love this place. Grounds are mowed, bushes got trimmed. Though it is pretty full, everyone is friendly and well behaved. We stayed in the south side and like the set up there. Great wifi again and out satellite works good. Had to move from our original choice but was no problem. There are a few trees here but it is not a problem. Beach access is not far...
Great campground and ammenitites. Everything was in great shape and all the camp sites are upgraded to 50 amp. Grounds are mowed and well taken care of. We camped in the older section and loved it. Spaces have plenty of distance between neighbors except for the double sites. Whole campground has upgraded to a new wifi that is excellent. I can't believe I'd ever say that about military campground wifi but the Navy broke...
We liked our stay at Peregrine Pines. We were told we had a site with satellite access but our Winegard Traveler would not lock on. Too many trees at site #43. We moved forward and backward three times to try and find an opening but to no avail. We eventually gave up and just watched local TV for a week. It was not the end of the world but we were told and we expected...
New campground with concrete pads, level sites and lots of open area for the satellite dish. We would stay here again and liked the FamCamp. As previously stated, there is no place to park at Outdoor Recreation so recommended you drive directly to the FamCamp, pick out a site and find the Camp Host. We met Aliesha and were very impressed. She is 'hands on" and very knowledgeable as well as helpful. She offered to...
I concur with previous reviewer - enter at the Eubank Gate. Much easier than the Wyoming gate which we have done a few times. Campground keeps getting better each time we visit. Glad to get the last site in the new area. Work crew is steady maintaining it, chopping weeds, watering trees etc. It will never be a destination campground but very adequate for the many permanent Active Duty residents and those like us that...
We would probably visit again. The road off the main highway to the campground is recently paved which is a big plus. The Location is also good and love being on the water. It was pretty rustic, almost rough but it turned out to be OK. Looks like there have not been any upgrades or real maintenance on the property in a while. That being said, it was a good location. The trees prevented us...
