This is our second long term (for us long term is more than a month) stay at Desert Eagle. It is a great park - especially in the wagon wheel section. There is so much room in the wagon wheels that it is very comfortable, and you don't feel watched by close neighbors. There is no grass to mow, no flower gardens to keep up, no edging to be done - just a lot of gravel and...
This is our second stay at Camp San Luis Obispo. What I like the most is it is simple, clean, and quiet. The road is gravel, the sites are gravel and there is grass in between (fresh sod actually). The sites are spacious with plenty of elbow room - no crowding. We have a 43 footer and we fit just fine in the pull through (they are all pull throughs) and the truck parks next to...
This is our second stay at Travis. The first time (3 years ago) we thought they should keep up with the lawn care better and clean up or check the sites after people left. Also, the pet side wasn't as nice as the non-pet side. Well, none of that has changed. The grass needed mowing and there were things on our site like q-tips, wrappers, cig butts, etc. It just isn't tidy - and this...
Camp Rilea is simple, clean and easy. Had it not been for the constant rain, we would have really enjoyed our stay there. The “campground” is an enlarged parking lot for RV’s. If they’re full, the RV’s are extremely close together. We were there in December and there were only 4 or 5 RV’s there so it felt nice and roomy. All utilities worked fine and were located well. You back up to a...
Cliffside is an outstanding RV park! Probably one of the best military famcamps in the nation. It is on the Puget Sound (Salish Sea) water’s edge and the views are spectacular. You have an open ocean view with Olympic National Park in the southern distance and the San Juan Islands & Vancouver Island in the western and northern distance. The sites are spaced out so there is no crowding at all. All utilities are easy...
Holiday Park is beautiful. It's within a pine forest and you can even smell the pine in the air. Trees, trees and more trees. Keep that in mind when you make your decision to come here. Some sites are flanked on either side of the entrance with trees and others are somewhat easier. We were in site 37. It's close to the entrance to the park, but you have go through the entire park...
This was our second stay at Ellsworth AFB Famcamp and it's just a nice park. There are some areas that are in a wagon wheel formation and there is a section that has pull throughs. There is plenty of room between the sites and it feels very comfortable. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete. (I think the pull through roads are gravel but sites are concrete). The back in sites in the...
Very nice park. The sites are very roomy and they have a huge gravel patio with built in fire ring. Roads and sites are gravel. The park is clean and we'll maintained. Utilities worked well and were placed well. Easy to navigate through the park and there's a nice catch and release pond. No complaints at all with the park. There is no commissary and a very small exchange even though it's an active...
We liked Oak Grove. In winters past, while staying at Blue Angel Campground, we had gone on base and driven through Oak Grove and didn't think too much of it BUT this time we stayed there because we had to wait about 10 days before we could get in to Blue Angel. We really enjoyed the park. So, our initial drive-thrus didn't really give us a good idea of the park. We had site 30, which...
We love this park. In 2018 we stayed at the 'front' where it is row after row of pull throughs. We were very happy there....then. But, this time we stayed in the 'back' park (or new park) and it was great! While we were here the Coronavirus pandemic started. We had planned to stay from Jan to the end of March but ended up staying until the end of May in order to wait out...
This is a great park. It sits right on the channel where the ocean meets the St. John's River and immediately next to the docks where they tie up the Navy ships. On any given day you can watch Navy ships, cargo ships, fishing boats, pleasure boats, and/or cruise ships go in and out of the channel. The park is spotless clean, and well run. There are 2 dog runs right on the water's edge. ...
Very, very nice little campground. It's new (opened in May of 2018) with asphalt sites and asphalt road, grass between each site, well spaced and utilities in good location and good working order. There are 5 pull through sites that are FHU and the back in sites are 30 amp with no sewer. There is a conveniently located dump station. Our only complaint was no wifi. (There is no cable either, but we have satellite so don't care about...
No frills. Not a destination park, but an okay location to use as a base to visit the Boston area. There are wooded sites that are W/E and open spaces that are FHU. The layout of the open spaces is very strange and when you pull in to the office you have passed the open spaces and either have to back up to the entrance road to drive to your site or drive through the wooded sites. Very bad...
The only negatives are no wifi and no doggie park. Otherwise, this is a great park! Very well kept, plenty of space between sites, and utilities located in accordance to where they are located on an RV. The staff was extremely helpful giving us ideas if where to go and what to see. The roads and sites are asphalt and the rest is nice green lawn. Verizon cell signal was ok, easy to get satellite dish signal. We would...
Roomy! Lots of space between each site. It looked like the sites are different lengths, so you need to find one to fit your rig. Shorter rigs, please do not take a site meant for a forty footer! The park is clean, well kept and the utilities worked fine. Verizon cell signal was good. The park is located adjacent to the base runway so, if they are active, it could be loud. The 4 days we were there we...
We stayed for 78 days and were very pleased with the park. When we first arrived we were assigned site 180, which is in the 'new' section. The new section is tight, very tight. We didn't think that we could do 78 days in such cramped conditions so we asked to be moved to 103. Perfect! We were very comfortable and had plenty of room. There were people there that were in the new section for much longer than...
