Not much has changed here over the years. Still a dry landscape with dead weeds. The older section has trees and shade, the newer is treeless. All sites are pull through with convenient and good hookups. Pulling into the park, swing wide to make the sharp angle to the host (first) site. Stop there and get an assignment, then set up and drive over to Outdoor Rec to pay. WiFi worked well, Verizon cell/data...

We've stayed here many times and have always been pleased with the consistency of professional service and outstanding facilities. Quick, friendly check-in and escort to our paved and level concrete pad in the old, now "premium" section, our preferred location. Lots of space between sites, some trees and shrubs, and no obstructions to TV satellites. Plenty of OTA TV channels and good Verizon cell/data. The park WiFi would not connect during our stay, not unusual now that everyone seems...

We spent a week at this nice Famcamp. Entering the Rambo Gate your RV and car will be searched, either by a guard accompanying you or in some cases (we've had it both ways), you'll be asked to open up all the doors and go inside a holding area while the search is conducted. After that it's an easy drive to the Famcamp. On our visit, the host was in site #1 instead of #25, but it doesn't make...

We've averaged two visits a year for some time, but in the last year we've been disappointed by the lack of management and the rise of prices. This time around, we called and were told that we could arrive and take site 39, which we did. Before parking, we called and had to leave a message. After setting up and pulling out on our way to the commissary, we were called by Chris and told we were in the...

This is one of those gems you seldom hear about. Only 15 sites, spaced so far apart you have to yell to get your neighbor's attention. Heavily forested area with lots of grass, so satellite TV is almost negligible but we received nine OTA channels. Good WiFi throughout the post, and Verizon cell/data worked well. Miles and miles of empty building during our stay, and we had the 40 washer/dryer laundry to ourselves - all free and with new...

Nothing much noteworthy about this Famcamp; paved interior roads with sloping concrete pads, reasonable large sites, no trees for shade.  There aren't many choices in Great Falls, so after driving six miles through heavy city traffic we felt fortunate to get a site, but not accepting reservations in this out of the way location is insane.  Drive all the way, find out there are no spaces, then figure out how to get past the gate barriers in a 40'...

This is another park that where you end up being parked will affect the quality of your stay.  There are three areas; a new addition of eleven sites with full-length double-wide cement pads, the main section with pads and a patio, and the "tarmack" area, a parking lot with hookups about two blocks away.  We had mixed feelings about this park.  The host is a great guy, but there isn's a lot of communication between the Navy Lodging reservation...

Convenient to the Black Hills and easy to access, the base is a reasonably priced alternative to others in the area. Nice that you can enter through any gate, and during our stay we were impressed by the courtesy and friendliness of the entry guards. Very nice commissary just down from the Famcamp, sad, little used BX. The older portion of the park is all back-in, the newer 16 sites are concrete pull-thrus with 8 more nearly...

Getting to the park is an exercise in pothole and maintenance cone avoidance, but once on the post the roads, while bumpy, are fairly well maintained. The park itself is extremely well maintained; level concrete pull-through sites and large patio with table and grill, convenient hookups, and lots of room. Propane is available M-F and there are a few RV items in the store. There is no park WiFi or cable, but you're in the middle of...

The jersey barriers have been removed from the entrance road; speed bumps, easily navigated by a big rig, have been installed, so there is no need to use the commercial gate. On arrival, proceed through the main gate to Ellsworth Avenue, just short of the flagpole, and turn left. The billeting office is located just down the street on the right, you must get a key to open the power box. If arriving after hours, ask the...

One of the better Famcamps - long cement sites, good hookups, and some shaded sites, with friendly and helpful camp hosts. It's no longer necessary to use the Commercial Gate, the main gate has been rebuilt and there are no barriers or low clearances. Disregard the sign "RVs must turn around", it's for the museum, not the gate. Great location near Rapid City and Black Hills, and the Famcamp is convenient to base facilities. The base...

El Paso doesn't offer much in the way of quality parks, but even if it did, this park would stand out above the others. Paved interior roads, concrete sites and pads, sparkling restrooms, and a beautiful community center make this place special. Check-in was quick and friendly, and using our Golden Access pass resulted in a $12 day fee. Hookups are all centralized and work well. Restrooms were maintained in spotless condition. If given a choice, opt for the...

A very nice place to stay - sites are near the lake shore, there are ample trees for shade, and the sites are paved and all now have 50A power. Office hours during the winter are intermittent, but there's a friendly host to check you in. Convenient to shopping and dining, but not to Goodfellow AFB, it's a 10 mile drive across town to get to the base. Quiet and dark at night, with good Verizon cell...

Compared with other Famcamps and military campgrounds, we found this location to be just average in facilities and value. Fairly easy to find, all of the back-in full-hookup sites were filled, but there were plenty of pull-thru 30A/W sites in the back. The sites are elevated concrete pads, good sized but a bit short, with pea gravel patio area and table. The host was friendly and accommodating. It appears that there are a number of long-term residents;...

This is a recurring stop for us since it's virtually the only decent place in the area. Nothing fancy, just convenient pull-thru sites, good hookups, and except for the aircraft, a quiet place to stay. The manager is well meaning but sometimes seems a bit confused; part of it may be the lack of an organized system for reservations. Travel on and off base is a chore after 6:00 PM and weekends if not a Reserve weekend...

We enjoyed our two-week stay at this beautiful travel camp. A word of caution; DO NOT use the North Fort Lewis exit if you don't have a valid DoD sticker on your vehicles - you'll be turned around at the gate. The visitor center is on the other side of the exit, on the Fort Lewis exit. Signage is good except for the turn-in to the park, just look for the first left turn after the Travel...
