Been a while since this place was reviewed so here's one. Nothing has changed. Still just a slab and utilities, that's it nothing else. Make sure and use the main gate, if your over 12' high stay all the way to the right where it says delivery trucks. 12 identical concrete pads are sorta level grass is a little high and there is a dumpster. Base has everything you'd expect. $30 a night....
I like the easy access and almost big rig friendly, you'll hit a few limbs if in the full hookup sites or going to dump station, a little trimming would help this. Also the water hookups are, well, under water, spickets are below ground level and after a rain or leaky spout the hole is full of mud/water that you have to stick your hose into hookup. Staff at his place is great, very helpful and accommodating. Still...
Come in from the Alabama side and it will be slightly easier, on your nerves at least, it's a long drive in from the highway. Once yo arrive you sit in the 1 lane entrance drive while checking in so people returning to the park must wait till everyone in front of them are ready to head to the campground. Come in the Onieda gate make a right at the light and drive till you see the Remington Park sign on the right, turn and the campground is on the left, take the second entrance once you start to see the cabins. Check in is at the large cabin on your left as you enter the park. It's not clearly marked as to be seen as the office from the road. Vary large sites, plenty of room...
Bath house is nasty, pet waste everywhere, tall weeds and no working cable or WIFI. Family's and long term campers abound. Not what I was expecting but kind of the norm for some military camps lately.
This place hasn't been reviewed in a while so ill do it. Staff is friendly enough but not enough to make up for the atrocious condition of the sites. As mentioned earlier the layout is just beyond description, it makes no sense at all to have your hookups and parking pad 2 feet from your neighbors covered picnick table that is 25 feet from his front door.
